I empathise with you there. I have no truck with those who feel the need to imbibe at breakfast. It's bad enough when someone is cracking open cans of beer on the late afternoon commute. Surely waiting until they reach home or a suitable hostelry would be better than appearing to be alcohol-dependent on a crowded train?
Personally I think a Bloody Mary with breakfast is a most civilised way to start the day.

It's common to see a couple of people half-way down their first pint by 9am here. It does look bad but then if they were having mimosas or champagne with smoked salmon it would look decadent rather than crass

I've been known to go for a pint with my team at 8am at the end of nightshift. Body clock tells me it's 18:00

And, I hate to say it, but judging from the accents I could hear, they were all from a certain region way north of my own neck of the woods.
How do you know that they haven't just finished a night shift and it's their "tea time pint after work"?

Ooops, already posted by "Batcher". soz.

Mine too. 11:59am means you are a piss-head, 12:01pm means you have it under control.....

No black pudding. And the beer is flat. Looks like a southerner's breakfast to me.

No, look at the beer mats. No pub round my way would serve that Tetleys muck.
