Two years, and then they got rid of me because I took some holiday

Best favour they ever did me
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Jeez guys have a day off

Had a week off at the end of May (client was offering OT in June so invoiced extra that month to make up for it). Taking bank holiday week off then its a clear run to Xmas!

Not 3 years without taking a single (billable) day off, surely?

I take holidays when I want to - I think that not having to consult some chart to see how many days annual leave I have left is one of the perks of being a contractor.
But everyone is different - I don't have any kids to pay for...

Same - didn't have much going on next week, so I decided yesterday to take Monday / Tuesday off with the Mrs. Unless we have a holiday, it's nice taking "odd days" and like you say, even better than I don't have to count them!

when I started contracting back in 2011 I did about 11 months without a day off. but now that I have a 3 month war chest it's different...

                  This year:

3 weeks in March for a trip to South Africa
1 week in May for a break in Hungary
2 weeks coming up in a couple of weeks for Spain
I'll finish the year on the 19th December

so about 8 weeks holiday this year... more than I ever did as a permie!
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

2 years, 9 months and counting (working from home some days helps).
