Skills shortage in IT?

Every client I work with reminds me there is a skills shortage in IT.

I opened up the report that SueEllen linked to.

The eye-opener for me was this nugget.

In one study of US occupations by the University of Oxford, for
example, it was found that 47% of total employment is at risk of “computerisation”.

I suppose its good that the government recognise that nearly half of all jobs could vanish!

not quite sure what skills he thinks he needs, he never really said.

The skills he needs are probably ones that are specific to his business and not generic enough.

So you liked my 2006 Wail link of a Skills shortage in IT.

Strange that there is still a shortage of graduates EU wide with skills in IT or maybe people just don't like Cardiff.....

Why dont you look at the jobs on the website

I looked, Java and vanilla html /css plus a few bits & bobs.

the PM role doesn't have any methodology and apparently they want :

An interest in the following would be beneficial:
Human-computer interaction
Information architecture
Typography
HTML and CSS
Responsive web design
Javascript
