    Java is for girls.
Python is for mentalists that like to count the number of spaces used for an indent.

yup banks, which is where the decent paying contracts are, are moving to cheaper standard solutions such as murex or using offshore development. The old days where banks employed armies of c++ contractors are disappearing.

There are still a few contracts around, but getting less.

Interestingly all the memory leaks in our 50% C++ 50% java applications are in the Java apps.

The trouble is in Java is when you have a memory leak it's very difficult to locate.

If you use a decent text editor it does the indentation for you, as any fule knows
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Go will be consigned to the Google dustbin alongside all the other stuff they launch and then get bored of. And Python has been "the next big thing" for a decade while failing to make serious inroads - it seems JavaScript is eating Python's niche (though why on earth anyone wants to use JS I cannot imagine)

For low-level stuff C++ is still best. But there is less and less low level stuff needed.

Is it me or is it this time of the year, I can't seem to find a decent C++ contract role?
Just this minute I received an email about a £450/day role in Nottingham.
