My skill set is very diverse and this helps when looking for new roles, best of luck to you but you need to think about longevity with regards to your skill set.

Well I would make sure you highlight these skills appropriately on you C.V. with regards to ISEB sorry to inform you but it's not that highly regarded in the testing community and people tend not to put much stock in it. They're more concerned with your experience and team fit currently seems to be top of the agenda at the last few gigs I've worked, when you say selenium please tell me that it's not selenium IDE as that is junk.

Why don't you peruse the job adds and see which skills they are asking for and then invest in learning those? Find ways to mention them on your cv and generally work them into your background?

I agree, I'm still trying to get my second contract and its proving very difficult, I've applied for permie roles and I always get called back, I've even had 4 permie telephone interviews but I can never seem to get through to the next stage, so I must be saying something wrong somewhere.

How about BDD, Spec by Example, test automation etc? That's where the real money is. Note you'll actually have to know what you're talking about, rather than attempt to self-learn and blag.

                      Good point.

AS 400, AS400, AS-400, AS/400 are not very likely to be word matched in agency systems with current contract positions, as those terms all but died about ten years ago. System i, iSeries are more likely to appear in automated searches. I suspect that many agents are not sufficiently knowledgeable to make the connection. Even those that can may have a hard time explaining the connection to even more ignorant clients, so I think you need to help them along.

"Find and replace" by all means but you have to feel confident talking about the new systems and you do not want to miss out on the odd vacancy which does actually have AS400 in it.

Others may correct me but I think I would link the two in the CV, e.g. "AS400 now succeeded by System I or iSeries"......or something similar. You have to think like the simplistic machines we program!
