If it's a banking roll then don't lose faith yet, mine took over two months to sort out, keep badgering the agent -
Bit late for this one, had the first phone interview in a pub in Manchester so I must have been at the Coop, so must have been 2011.Originally posted by Magpie252 View PostIf it's a banking roll then don't lose faith yet, mine took over two months to sort out, keep badgering the agent

If I could do 600 from 633, you could call me GodOriginally posted by TheFaQQer View PostJobserve gives me 633 contract roles in the UK, in IT, listed today.
If they are listing over 600 jobs each day that you can do, and you are only applying for five a week, then I suspect you may need to be trying harder to find a role.
I'm only competent in the JAVA field, so let's say that's about 15% of the daily 600.
Also, not every JAVA job matches my skills, only about 10% of all the JAVA jobs, because JAVA is a huge topic.Comment

60 a day. Five days a week. So three hundred vacancies a week being advertised on Jobserve.Originally posted by gabox01 View PostIf I could do 600 from 633, you could call me God

And on average, you apply for between four and five of these.
You might need to up your game since you aren't getting any interviews.Comment

Btw, when you apply for a job, do you use the default cover letter template?
So far i have used the job site default. Do you think this could be an issue? They might think i'm too lazy to write a decent cover letter, and not even look at my CV.Comment

Unless things have changed in the past year I don't think the letter makes any difference. I send my CV with stock letter and get a phone call within 30 minutes.Originally posted by gabox01 View PostBtw, when you apply for a job, do you use the default cover letter template?

It may be that my CV is very good but I always get past the first stage...merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

Very few agents can read properly, and even the ones who can don't read more than they have to so the cover email isn't read."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
