I did respond with more details (see earlier in the thread, it seems that the moderator posted it after you had responded)
The umbrella company in question is in the top 10 on a lot of websites but I would never use them again. I wouldn't use that agency again either. Awful service and lack of support from both of them.
Currently I have no idea when I will get paid as neither of them and taking calls or responding to emails.Comment

Guess it depends on the umbrella - of course, would the employee ever know that they had received the money in the first place?
The explanation for late payment certainly doesn't seem to be satisfactory and I would urge the OP to contact the umbrella again and ask them to press the agency for more info.
With regard to you comment about it not being in the brolly's interest to chase payment - if the brolly is operating a proper over arching contract they will make payment to the contractor at the end of the month regardless of whether or not they have received funds - if they then don't get paid that's lost moneyComment
