Good evening gentlemen.
I am finally in a position where I may end up on a larger company's board.
While this is great news, it is also a new territory for me.
The board meetings are infrequent but do require a lot of careful preparation as it can make or break the company.
So first of all I am interested how should I propose my remuneration package.
Should I base it on my existing day rate, assuming that a board meeting is 1 day + say 2 days of preparation or should I estimate it on company size, revenues and the impact to the bottom line that I will be making?
Is it common that board members remuneration is linked to company KPIs?
Second question is, as I am external to the organisation, I would to invoice via my existing consultancy Ltd.
Is that the standard way of doing things?
Any other things I should consider?
