6 weeks after interview - get an offer

    Never seen anything like it.

Had a phone interview way back in November. Didn't go particularly well I thought. Agency were completely useless - never even rang me back when I chased them so I gave it up for dead.

Today, out of the blue, get a call from someone at the outsourcing company (not the agency) asking me if I'm still interested.

I'm thinking possibly someones bailed or let them down and I'm 2nd choice. I know a lot of people interview just before xmas and then everyone loses interest for a few weeks but this was November.

Weird how agency haven't called me? Wondering if client is trying to shortcut things lol.

    Anyone else ever had this?

So what exactly is your problem with this? I can't see anything untoward here. An opportunity arises from the ashes and you are still not happy?

Had similar happen to me but was client ringing me not the agent. I had something else so said no thanks and we agreed to keep in touch.

No problem at all. In fact, quite pleased :-)

Yes this was client ringing me. Just a bit strange how they didn't go back through the agency.

Agency acted like typical agents with this one though - didn't bother calling me back etc. They'll be shocked if I dump the business back in their lap- no thanks to them....

Why is it so strange? They can either ring you which takes 5 mins or they can get the agent to do it which will take 3 days. Agencies provide a service to help the client, they are not the only possible route of information.

          No they won't.

I guess if the agent had rung you instead of the client you would have posted about that so we can't win either way <sigh>

Are they offering you the role direct or expecting you to run after the agent to sort it?

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Jeez NLUK change the record, you don't have to disagree with everything.

Sounds like the client is trying to bypass the agent to save some costs. Did you talk rates? Be careful here, it could turn nasty. On the one hand saving the cost of you could secure the contract but if the agency gets wind could scupper all chance of the contract as client won't be willing to put up with pressure of agency hassling them

Don't see any disagreement in my post. Pointing out a possibility the OP seems not to have thought about that's all.
