SC Cleared but failed BPSS

I'm asking upon SC transfer what the new company would see as far as I know you initiate the transfer but what do they actually see it's a genuine question if you don't like the question please stay away from the thread

There is no need to be rude to other posters.

Instead of telling us your life history on here you read the information that is already available.

There are contractors who you work with now and in the future who will easily work out who you are from what you have posted, and some will be in management positions. (Most of the people who have contributed to this thread have held clearance or currently hold it.)

Likewise there are agents who read these posts and can easily work out who you are.

You are aware contractoruk forums come up as the top posts in google searches for various search terms?

I understand what you're asking, thanks. What I'm asking is why you think it would be anything different to what you put on the original forms and why you seem to think you do a pick and mix with the answers, but if that's too hard then fine.

And to put this in context, I've been working with the Cabinet Office on the whole Security Clearance Catch-22 for several years and was one of those instrumental in getting it on to HMG's agenda in the first place, so I hope I understand the process reasonably well.

well I was proof that your statement doesn't hold true, i.e SC cleared but went through BPSS and failed (same details put on the CR declaration)

No: if, for example, your SC had lapsed you weren't cleared else you wouldn't have needed a BPSS check . Or whoever made the BPSS risk assessment had different criteria. Or it's a different agency: the Police won't recognise MOD clearance, for example. Or something else had changed, such as your credit rating. Who knows...

yes but that page says "Advertising for staff that already have a security clearance is contrary to government policy, unnecessary and potentially discriminatory. Any individual who sees such a criterion specified in advertisements when seeking employment can inform the Cabinet Office by forwarding full details of the post and the employer." which is clearly ignored 99.99% of the time, as roles are routinely advertised as needing SC before you are able to apply.

well like I mentioned I'm SC till 2020 - went for another role who "will" transfer the SC across "but" also as "good practice" put you through another BPSS in which case they found my particular offence as a risk they didn't want to take, hence i was just pointing out that being SC most definitely doesn't mean you'll pass BPSS it sounds as though each employer has a different approach aka SC catch 22

No. Your clearance lapsed when you left the last position. It only lasts 5 years (for a contractor) if you're continuously working in a cleared role.

it hasn't lapsed, im still in my current role and have a letter showing me my clearance hence what I keep telling you regards SC does not guarantee BPSS will be passed at another gig
