CV Writing services - Any good or load of crap?

Seem to have had a bit of bad press recently.

Anyone ever tried this, and had any success for contract work. I must admit I'm dubious that they're nothing more than charlatans with a few students sitting there bunging your CV into a template and then charging £200.

And, of course, I wonder whether they're really geared up for contracts as opposed to permanent employment.

    Any experiences good or bad?

Do a ******* search ffs. This has been asked at least twice recently and a lot of times before it. You should know the forums better than that.

Do the Job Centre not provide you with guidance on writing a CV?

I'm sure there was someone who said that they'd been sent on one when they were claiming benefits and found it very useful.

+1. Isn't the usual advice that the recruitment agents on here are willing to have a look and provide feedback....

Mind you I can see why psycho may not want his CV being seen by dodgy. It will take dodgy months to recover from the laughter induced hernia....

I did it once and I won't need to do it again. Their template is superb though.

Yes, I think you're referring to this:
Job centre staff told unemployed graduate told to 'dumb down' her CV and remove her degree to find work | Mail Online
<Insert idea here> will never be adopted because the politicians are in the pockets of the banks!
