Can your family not come with you if you were away?

You were considering a role in America recently, with a plan to take them with you, but they can't do something similar in the UK?

Oh well. Due to start on monday but its all fallen flat now.

I know I'm not the first and won't be the last, but it is a little irritating to hear that the client has pulled the role at 3pm on friday before monday start. Bit wassed off that the agency was hassling me a week ago to get the contract signed to show 'commitment' and now they do this. Also, had a chat with the manager at client yesterday to discuss arrangements/work etc. Would have been the more professional way for him to phone me also and let me know the score rather than hide behind the agency.

Thing is I saw a similar looking job spec a week ago for a permie position at £crap pa. Looks like this is the way its gone.

Still friday 3pm is taking the piss a bit. I know I always harp on about how unprofessional some clients are but imagine this consultancy companies attitude if I'd done the same? i.e. their client is expecting their representative on site at 9am monday am and 3pm friday they find out they're high and dry.

      Just saying like....

Oh well, at least NLUK will be please because, if I'd started, sounds like they would have pissed me off before long!

                    That's really crap treatment, PS.
But you were looking all the time, even though you "got" this gig, anyway, right?

All you can do is start afresh.
You were a bit ambivalent about it anyway.
So maybe, having the certainty of not having this gig, clears your mind for other possibilities.

Hope it happens soon for you.

Yep. To be fair I aint stopped looking this has been my backup. But to be fair, they hassled me to sign the contract at the start of the week and from that day onwards I had commited to it in all honesty. Even though I would have considered calling one week notice if anything came up I don't think even I would have canned it on friday if offered something else on friday.

But yeh it was a bit crap but better than nothing. Hey ho here we go then.

Maybe doing mon-fri away is going to be a necessity. Good news is dear wife is much better. Not 100% so its not ideal but needs must. One thing is shes happy with the idea at least.
