Well i have been contracting for 10 years now and had none of the above, I must have been lucky then. -
A few years ago when there was more jobs going, it wasn't so bad. Think about it- less jobs, agencies still want their turnover, where will they make up the shortfall? Increasingly desperate, there is only one source : from us.Originally posted by Boney M View PostWell i have been contracting for 10 years now and had none of the above, I must have been lucky then.Comment

Put in a Subject Access Request under the DPA and then sue of loss of business / earnings.Originally posted by masonryan View PostThey are retaining incorrect information on an individual on their company systems. Surely a breach of the Data Protection Act?Comment

Nope, change your business delivery model, diversify the sectors you operate in and exploit the less mature international markets are all much more viable options.Originally posted by masonryan View PostA few years ago when there was more jobs going, it wasn't so bad. Can you here that everyone?Originally posted by masonryan View PostI don't need to make it up. Agents have failed to pay me, betrayed me and lie to me almost in every sentence. People need to learn the cons they are being subjected to.

I think your friend should put it down to experience and keep applying. If his actually happened then it is likely that your friend's idea of senior is not the same as the interviewer's. He might well have answered senior level questions at the interview but the interviewer wanted more knowledge.Originally posted by masonryan View PostGood evening everyone.
A friend of mine recently attended an interview via an agency, but didn't get the job. He suspected it was because the agent had sent in cheaper candidates to the end client also.
He asked why he was rejected and got email feedback from the end client.
However the feedback was incorrect. It stated my friend only had entry level/procedural and systematic work experience, while the end client wanted someone more 'senior' who had worked more independently and carried out investigations on their own initiative etc.
But my friend has done this more senior work for the best part of a decade... this was made clear on CV and from examples provided at interview.
Therefore the basis for rejection was false and my friend considers it libelous and defamatory.
What course of action do you think my friend should take?
E.g. In C++ an interviewer might ask you to talk about the keyword virtual and might have the following ideas:
Beginner:
Virtual functions, what? how? why?
Intermidiate:
Virtual inheritence, what? how? why?
Explanation of how virtual functions are implmented.
Potential issues with both of the above.
Advanced:
Detailed knowledge of the vtable (potential prompt, why can't virtual functions be used in a union).
Suggestions for different implementations.
Issues caused by Virtual interitenence.
Detailed examples of projects previously worked upon.
Someone who is not 'advanced' might not be aware that these factors exist and might therefore have a false idea of their level.Comment
