How long does OP want to do it for?
One way in to the US is via an E2 visa where you start or buy a business. OP could buy an existing IT business/consultancy and maintain it whilst contracting services out through it.
Obviously the E2 business would need to maintain US jobs so surely with some due diligence one could find and procure one that has customers and the employees to maintain it:

Anyway, IIRC there are quite a few restrictions surrounding those visas and they aren't aimed at contractors. There was a bill to improve access for foreign entrepreneurs/start-ups, but immigration reform in the US is going nowhere fast in the current climate.Comment
