Transport companies are the same regarding blood alcohol limits - essentially zero for all staff on their premises. Christmas do this year was a bit of a downer!Comment

Yep, last gig was a manufacturing and logistics co. All sites were dry, including head office - alcohol on any site was a sackable offence.
Had to do a written H&S exam before going onto each of the manufacturing sites. Only walk on marked paths, boots, safety goggles, ear muffs, hi-vis and beard doodaddy required in certain areas.Comment

During a spell at a nuclear company
- after walking down some stairs with a Cisco switch under my arm I was turned round and told to go back up stairs and get the lift down
- was given a safety message of the day - at any time you could be asked what it was and if you didnt know it you were in troubleComment

I have a friend of mine who contracted there for about 12 months and its true... he would regale us of his tales of an H&S monitor who would stand on the stairwells checking that the handrail was being used and no hot drinks in hand!
Allegedy, it wasn't the most fun place to work. Parking seemed to have also been an issue (office on the South Coast).
Always, remember, always, look after the Invoicing and Collections...I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor.
