6 Month contract, no notice period (required to work full 6 months)

I recently started a 6 month contract (5.5 actually). The agent told me before I started that there is no notice period on my part and that I'm required to work the full duration of the contract, to "protect" the client. The client, however, can give me 4 weeks notice to leave any time.

I have never heard of this before and wondered if it's something I should be concerned about. I'm now in my 3rd week and feel it's not working out as I would've liked. I know there are better opportunities around. I've never bailed out of a contract early before but I'm thinking about it this time.

    Thanks.

You can do things fast in contracting but take time to read and research the detail otherwise you will screw up.

That's right. Let a bunch of strangers run your business for you. Good idea that.
