When an end client forces you to go through a small list of agencies... isn't this suspicious to you? As I fear that those agencies don't really represent you in the same way as an agency of your choosing would. In my experience, those agencies on the list are more actively not looking to improve your terms on renewal. Do you agree?

Agencies don't represent you - they represent the client - you represent the agent, they are your customer, the client is the agent's customer.
How the client chooses their agents is really none of your business."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Your points don't need to go to the end client - you negotiate with the agent."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
