Oh well. 6-3 this week then 2-10 next week.
Not that big of a problem for me to be honest. At least the traffic will be better.Last edited by psychocandy; 30 July 2013, 11:27.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

Unreasonable is a subjective term. Many people even in the UK work 12 hour days and are glad of the work; in other countries it isn't even seen as unusual.Originally posted by alluvial View PostPersonally I hate it when the client expects you to work unreasonable hours. What I hate even more is when the other contractors on the team think it is fine to give away time for free
If you're being paid then you're not giving away time for free unless your contract says you'll work 40 hours a week and you have to do 60.
It smacks of bad management if they are trying to get everyone to work such long hours routinely, but bad management is one reason contractors are needed!Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

To be fair, client is pretty good. Certainly one of the fairest I've come across...
Looks like 12 hour shifts coming up soon but they have indicated that they will sort out remuneration for this rather than expect a standard day. Heard its going to be 1.5 day rate which seems fine.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

1.5 day rate is something i'd demand. Otherwise they could kiss my ass.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostTo be fair, client is pretty good. Certainly one of the fairest I've come across...

You said originally that they were night shifts. Is that still the case? Because I'd expect 1.5 x day rate for a normal 12 hour day, I'd want at least 2x for a 12 hour night shift.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostTo be fair, client is pretty good. Permie thinking
You get the day off to sit in the sun, and work when everyone else is sleeping and it's dark.

Remains to be seen. To be fair, they did mention this at interview time....Originally posted by Bunk View PostYou said originally that they were night shifts. Is that still the case?
