Looks like these guys together can be a recruitment monopoly . So definitely this will be a big danger for contractors. Also I noticed Today's Spring pimp is tomorrow's Hyphen pimp &day after MODIS....

Are they together squeezing contractors ? Any experience where these guys together damaged your interest?

Is there any anti-monopoly rules covering recruitment industry?
    Thanks.

He had a negative bluety on a quackhandle and was quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

        Before or after their mergers?

Adecco acquired most of these independent companies in last 2-3 years only. Surely if they all will work independently after merger, then there is not much point in merger & coming under one umbrella company.

I had a contract with Ajilon a few years back.

Paid regularly, but the agent was a nightmare. Only offered an opt out contract (despite a number of explanations that I couldn't opt out), "legal" didn't understand that I'd been introduced to the client because I'd interviewed, and eventually told me to take it or leave it. I said that I'd leave it, and that I'd ring the client to explain, which prompted much back-tracking.

Agent told me the role was in central London, neglecting to mention that I would need to get my SC clearance first, and in the meantime I would be in Slough. First mention of Slough was at 4pm on the Friday (due to start Monday) when I was on the train. Didn't start for another week, mainly because of the opt out argument as well.

I gave notice at one stage because of the messing around over location, and then agreed a better deal (based in one place, expenses paid). They didn't process the paperwork, so I had no renewal - client rang to ask where I was, and I had to explain that I had no contract from Ajilon.

Once they processed the paperwork, my ID and logon had then expired, because they hadn't updated their data feed to the client, so I couldn't get in. Took another week for them to update their system and get the change made on client site so I could do any work.

Apart from that, they were great

No, they're deffo part of adecco.

TBH, their terms are pretty tulipe. You can get some changed, others they wont budge.

At one client they had stipulated

you only got paid after they got paid and you had to submit signed timesheets within 8 weeks of the period covered by the timesheet. Otherwise they would not pay you. B&C got this changed.

they wouldnt budge from their 445 payment schedule

they wanted 5 year references when they got sole supplier status even if you had been on site for a couple of years. Client said this was BS and said I didnt need to submit anything.

Ajilon also had a clause in the contract which said that you couldn't slag them off to the client.

If you did and the client terminated the contract, then you were liable for their losses.
