They are the only agency I would trust to do this though.
Disagree. In my naivety I gave them the name of my last manager as they mentioned they had roles at the location I knew he was currently at (he'd said it was ok to give his name as referee).

A few days later, he contacted me and said TEK Systems had pumped him mercilessly about vaccancies in his area and details of hiring managers in his current location and elsewhere. He got the same impression I had about them, very, very aggressive in obtaining details.

Each to their own though. I know I wont be giving them the time of day in future.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

That right, and when ratethecontractor comes out and ruins peoples lives we won't be to blame for it at all.

Well, the interview went really well - at least I think it did. Can do the job no problem, nice work environment, nice people, etc.

I rang the (useless) agency girl back and told her my thoughts. Just the usual "oh right, that's good" responses every 20 seconds from her whilst filing her nails or something - then I heard her cover her phone as she talks to her mate. Very professional and polite (as if I can't hear her covering the phone with her hand). . Afterwards carried on as if she heard what I had to say.

She finally says "so, you'd be interested if it were offered to you then?". I said yes everything is fine; just a matter of the client interviewing others and come to a decision.

Then..."So, we're they not too bothered about your BA skills?" FFS! Seriously; I've had it with this chump.

I bit my tongue and politely stated to her that it was a developer role not a BA role - just because I have to occassionally liase with some users in the same department does not mean you should be a full on BA.

I even asked about it in the proper interview and the client said it wasn't a BA role; it's a developer role - just have to be happy to talk to users from time to time if any complex issues came up.

So...fingers crossed I get it, but we shall see. They'll get back to me early next week. I'm really hoping this moron does not keep harping on about BA skills to the client and question their final decision. This phone monkey doesn't know the difference between IT roles let alone technology terms, etc.

                More to follow...

I've worked through Teksystems before. They are ok as long as you set the rules. They insisted on two references before putting me forwards, I jokingly said, pull the per one, that's the oldest agent trick in the book. They insisted it was for references only. In a moment of over trustingness I gave them and said I did not want these to be used for fishing, and would check with the referees whether they had been called. They weren't. And I was put forward for the role anyway.

I suspect they may be used several months down the line however

                      I got it!

Really really chuffed to say the least.

Still don't rate the agency at all. The idiotic young bloke that I saw face to face kept on about coming in to see them was a really good idea. :

"Hey there, they really loved what you had to offer and would like to offer you the contract. Will you be happy to?"

"Ah thats great news, sure in principle; I will obviously have to read the paperwork but the answer will be yes"

"See, thats why we bring people in. It was really helpful to know about the client and I think we did a great job"...at this point I was thinking, 'yer right buddy. you just ranted on at me saying sell yourself during our meeting, you didn't email me any further job decription as you promised and you thought the job was a BA role - and probably still do'

Still, at least it virtually over; just the usual checks and paperwork and will be there working away again.

For those still looking for a role; it's taken me about a month of solid hard work so far. Finding a full time job is in itself a full time job - I'm 100% certain the muppets in the middle make life sooo much harder playing their games and lack of understanding. A lot of it is luck until you get infront of a client - stick to it because eventually a few will get through to the actual person wanting you and you don't tend to deal with moronic people so much creaming off the hard work of others.

                      (yay!)
