I don't get all this agent bashing at all.... I just don't....

For a start there is a good reason they don't get back to us. Might not be good to us but it is the way to cookie crumbles. They sell, that's all. The days of personal agents are gone. That is life.

And it crumbles like this all the time, with many agencies and will do forever. It is the nature of doing business so why not just take it as said it is going to happen and just get on with it? Why get frustrated all the time when you know full well it is going to happen.

The silence for the agent is all you need to know, does matter one bit what the feedback is. You have your answer move on. I am really not getting why people get so upset about it. Just adapt and get on with it.

Assume they won't speak to you and be pleasantly surprised when they do.

Seasoned contractors have just as bad a memory as agents do,

        Applying through Jobserve

I have my list of perfered agents and If one of them is advertising on jobserve then I send a message using Linkedin.

I guess that agents have their perfered contractors to contact when a role comes up

          Agent has a role advertised.
          150 CV's get submitted
          3 go to interview
          1 gets the gig
Agent calls each unsuccessful applicant who he'll have to dig out the number, call them, explain they didn't get the gig, answer stupid questions, all in all 5 mins x 149 people
          Agent kisses the day goodbye.

          OR

Agent calls successful applicant and 2 unsuccessful interviewees
Agent can fill 10 positions in a day
Agent gets paid 10 times the commission
          Agents cut drops
Agents clients' more likely to be selected in future.

It's business, suck it up and move on. If you really want feedback then call them

the latter would be the preferred option, its called politeness and decency ()

but its not even a call to the unsuccessful interviewees

Seriously? You believe that excuses a lack of courtesy and professionalism? I have no problem with hearing nothing from a CV that went in to an agent, I don't even expect to hear once a CV has been put forward to their client. However, after I have spent days communicating with the agent and being put in front of their client, I'm afraid I do expect communication. It's only happened twice in 11 years anyway.

Moot point for me, luckliy I have no agents to deal with anymore...

                  Is that to me?

As I posted, once or twice in 11 years, and these days agents aren't on my radar, so I'm not sweating anything...

Not you as it doesn't really apply to you, just to anyone that gets upset by this.

Yeh. Like you said - I dont give a tulipe if agent doesnt call me if I submit CV. I do prefer an agent to call me if I actually go to interview though.

As you're figures above show its not so many people to ring so do it.
