    Three month NHS gig

    Hi,

I am just been offered a three months NHS gig. Before this I was with another private sector company who do BPO work for public sector. Does it mean I will be subject to HMRC's Public sector Tax affairs (IR35 and all those that is in the news) or is it if I am on this NHS gig for more then 6 months (i.e. provided that I extend the contract for another 3 months thereafter)?

    Thanks

I read it as over £200 per day, or over 6 months you will be subject to snooping, however until the dust settles I would avoid all NHS, if not all Public Sector roles for the time being.

Unlikely....don't know anyone that's been approached about it yet.

This current NHS contract is just for three months. My question is does my previous gig. counts as well?

        Thanks,

You are there for 3 months so should be OK up until the 6 month mark.

The guidance on another thread was that it kicks in for contracts greater than 6 months & over £220 per day. It would also depend on whether that particular has commenced adhering with the HMRC guidelines.

Shouldn't do. Is your new contract for the same role with the same client? If not, then you should be OK.

Thanks, Does my last contract (which was three months not with NHS but for a BPO which was doing work for public sector) counts as well? The current NHS and previous contracts both were paying for more then 220 pd but both are for three months each.

Each contract is judged separately so this should not be an issue.

Just spoken to my solicitor and he has advised that if you are getting 220 pd or more then weather or not you work for six months, you still be subject to scrutiny from HMRC.
