A voice for the contract industry

Like most I assumed once the Tories got in we would be ignored. Problem is the yellow side of the govt like bloody Danny Alexander seem to hate us. If Tories win a majority next time we will be left alone.

Bashing freelancers, PSCs, etc, allows Parliament to remove the spotlight from them for a change. For that reason, any gov worth their salt will continue to puke out the rhetoric on this matter.

If you were in government would you let us go?

Just jump on the bandwagon and gain some easy votes and extra money.

Joe public is unlikely to understand the subtlties of what we do and no one interested in standing up for us because the public will turn against them as they will be painted as supporting tax dodgers.

Erm no but they are more into pushing small businesses and people trying their own ltd companies. They encourage wealth creation not try to stop it with excessive tax. They are reducing corporation tax for small businesses for that very reason surely

Of course no govt can be seen to help tax avoidance. Not with this press today

As referenced in the thread 10 Things That Will Feck Up Your Business, they like BIG business. They speak well of small business but it's big business that works for them.
