    Displaying Registered Address On Website

I have got my ltd co website up and running now and am displaying my registered address as per guidelines.

However as this is my personal address as well, is it okay to display town and county only, as opposed to full address including road name and house number, or does it not matter as the full address can be found from companies house website anyway ?

Needs to be full address, your accountant may offer the service to let you use their address as your company's registered office to avoid this situation where you home address is available to all

Why would displaying your address be a problem ? Just asking like

I guess incase some nutter searches for the director by name, then shows info on his limited company (such as cash in the bank, etc), then decides to hold his wife + kids hostage until a large sum of money is paid.

Makes no difference. Your own address is displayed on DirectorCheck anyway.

If you want to advertise your ltd co online, you have to accept that a bit of personal info is available to anyone who wants to find it.

Ah, has that happened to you too then ? I let them keep the Mrs and the kids.

Using his accountant's address as a Reg Off wouldn't be likely to prevent that, would it ? DirectorCheck, CompanyCheck, TraceSmart etc etc etc (there are hundreds of them) will get anyone any personal info they want from a starting point of your Ltd Co name.

Websites like this one; Company Director Check - free company director search would give any nutters enough info no doubt. That plus the info you can get from Co Hse for a few quid. Plus there's always the whois results for the website if it doesn't have whois privacy (only available for .com IIRC)

Exactly, so trying to 'hide' your home address when advertising your company on the web is totally futile.

The opt-out is for .co.uk addresses too (I've done this on all my sites).
