I need to exercise m RoS...

....so I'm looking for a replacement Project Manager to take over my project in Liverpool until 19th October.

Good people, great working environment, a little chaotic at times, fairly unstructured...

Gig is to complete a data centre migration (infrastructure is in place, so it's migrating the applications and services) so would suit a PM with a systems background.

Very possible an extension until 2013 will be offered as the planning goes to Q1 2013.

I've never left a contract early before but I have an offer 10mins from home rather than several hours on a train and staying up in Liverpool all week... and I don't want to leave the client in the poo. There are business drivers which means them going through a contractor recuitment exercise will blow the dates... And they are really good to work with so I feel a bit guilty...

If you are interested, let me have your details and advise if / when I can contact you over the weekend for a chat. I haven't told the client yet so can't do this during office hours.

      WHS +1

Bloody great if you can but I still believe 99% of RoS will not work. I have seen someone who tried pulling RoS once and the client just wasn't interested. They were happy with the choice of guy but they just didn't want the hassle of him going through his LTD. They only option they gave was to terminate the contract early and take him on. Best he could do was get a letter from them confirming he had found a suitable resource as per the clause in the contract and they would accept him as substitution. They didn't mention contract or the method they engaged him. If they don't quiz the client it might work but would fall apart if they start digging during an investigation I guess.

        And me.

I tried it earlier on this year. I needed to take a month out (at end of contract, before starting a renewal already offered to me).

Client listened to me rant on about me bringing a substitute in and seemed interested, but then they decided they only had to wait a month for me, and besides, a key member of their permie team who was involved in the project was busy on other things (so it worked out for them not having to pay me to sit around doing nothing)

I'm not sure to this day how this would affect any possible future IR35 investigations (i.e. client wanting a personal service).

I'm potentially doing a RoS; I've told the client my availability is going to be nil/severely reduced but whether they allow me to pimp out someone else or demand to hire them independently remains to be seen - in reality I imagine most clients would do exactly that?

Can you come up with someone who has worked there before (ideally with you) ? I managed to get a client co do do it that way.
