    SQL developer role in "Cheshire"

Not sure how many agencies have called me God knows how many times to ask me if I would be interested in this role..... I personally know agents that have given up trying to fill it and told the company they can't do it. 42.5 hour week for crappy rate with the worst company in the history of man (I think). I have just seen them for the first time advertise the role themselves!

I made quite a few friends there (permies and contractors) and every one of them has left that awful place, it was just about bearable with the decent people around and now they all left I have heard from them how bad it has got before they all left.

Yeah, there's a similar one doing the rounds in Glasgow just now as well:

"Have a requirement for a .NET developer to work on a contract basis for our client based in central Glasgow. During the contract you will be expected to develop a unique website for one of the organisations long-term clients. This position may well suit a junior-mid level .NET developer looking to secure some experience through a contract role. Candidates considering applying should have experience in most of the following:..NET.C#/VB.NET.SQL Server 2008/R2.Visual Studio.HTML/CSS.JavaScript"

        Rate: £100 / £160 day.

I know the agent that's presently advertising it too, and he's an OK guy. But they'll never get someone for what amounts to a permie salary of ~£38k at the upper end, and ~£24k at the lower end!

Never mind, things always pick up in the end. I always say that the only thing all companies have in common these days is that they ALL use IT - that's why we techies are lucky enough to be able to work just about anywhere.

Are you desperate enough to work there? If not as NLUK already said why are you talking about it?

You complain so much about the place you currently are at that this place would be a wonderland by comparison. It clearly isn't but at least its not the previous original offices (they really really really were a dump).

And the hours are a condition of the company that founded them. Dominated by salesmen and very low paid support staff everyone else was made to work the same crappy hours.
