There are loads of infrastructure architect contract roles going. I dont really understand what a data architect is, is it similar? (I should know this stuff really)

State of contract architecture market in london
Hi Isf8hat
Yes I'm a generalist. I have done infrastructure, Application, Data, and Business Process in the past. Jobserve is a good place to start but I tend to find agents dont advertise the really good jobs. There are a couple of agencies that specialise in Architecture roles but they can be quite precious and the whole process can be far to much effort.

Wha kind of architecture work do you do. Are you a generalist or are you skills specific to a certain technology? Am a bit worried I'm going to invest all the time and effort moving back and then struggle to get work? I presume the best place to look,is still jobserve. Do you know any architecture specific recruitment agencies who only recruit architects? Is there any value in approaching them first?Comment

Cheers
But it's a very conservative market in the UK at the moment, everybody is holding on to roles if they can even though there has been a load of ATB rate cuts.
If I were you I'd stick it out in Australia, unless you're really flexible about where you can work in the UK/Europe. There is a shortage in Middleware/Architecture skills (or so I've been told by several different agents).Comment
