Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office. -

You're completely right guys.
This is the name of the game and you have to take the rough and the smooth of contracting.
It just seemed a particularly brutal 2 days so i fancied a vent.Comment

Contracting’s a funny old game at times. I was interviewed for a contract a few weeks ago, offered it and then retracted 2 days later due to ‘lack of budget’ and you think why go through the whole process without having approved budget?! It’s a kick in the balls when it happens but you soon recover. Picked up something else soon after anyway. Good luck with your next one.Last edited by oscarose; 5 March 2012, 15:27.one day at a time

Thankfully I've got an offer from the same company in a different office. Start tomorrow.
Bit more travel but i got a higher rate out of them to compensate.
Pretty pleased with that. A very good rate for a young lad like myself.Comment

Got my fingers burnt in 2009 when I had a great interview at Barclays, only to be told the budget hadn't been signed off. Ever since I always ask the agent to confirm this before interview, otherwise it tends to be a waste of time for everyone involved.Comment
