And make it clear (to agent B) that if it transpires that agent B lied about the client not having the CV on their desk from agent A, then agent A wins.Contracting: more of the money, less of the sh1tComment

The only thing that makes me nervous about this is that you have to trust the word of Agent B. Is he really going to say yes when he has the chance of putting you forward and getting the commission for himself with little risk to himself but great fall out for you?Originally posted by VirtualMonkey View Postif i'm ever unclear i get agency b to check with the client to see if i've been submitted. if not then it's fair game.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

To the OP: So which agency is this then? Once you confirm that this is indeed what agency A have done, name and shame.Comment

Why shame? What have they done wrong? And why the agency? What one agent does isn't a reflection on the whole agency.Originally posted by theroyale View PostTo the OP: So which agency is this then? Thanks for all the responses... a truly sad state of affairs!!
Firstly I will name the agency and consultant if it turns out to be true. However, as mentioned, it could be agency B just trying
I have received proof (a screenshot of submission form) from agency 1 however, sadly I am now never convinced.
I like the idea of 48 hours and if no interview submit through the others. I am also VERY tempted to call up the company, speak to HR and see if I have been submitted and thereby withdraw from consideration for the role.
Do we have a list of agencies that have/do do this sort of thing? If agency 1 is on the list, I will withdraw the app with them and apply via agency 2.Comment

If they have not put his CV forward, but told him that they have, then they have lied in order to prevent him from getting the contract. That's what they have done wrong.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostWhy shame? What have they done wrong? And why the agency? buddy you are dealing with recruitment agencies, being shafted by them one way or another is part of the game. you wonder why companies even bother using them considering a perm position can easily be 15-20% of gross salary...
But people are lazy and would rather pay 15-20% comission on gross salary than spend a week or 2 sifting through CV's and holding a few interviews.Comment

Because the agent is working in a professional capacity and is representing his agency. This forum has enough visibility on google searches to come up (sometimes) near the top when you search for agencies - and why shouldn't instances like this come out to the world?Originally posted by northernladuk View PostWhy shame? If he isn't acting professionally then it isn't representing his agency, it is him being a lose cannon. Naming and shaming on the web can be a risky thing to do nowadays. We have had a couple of examples of people doing this in the past and in every case the poster has had his ass handed to him very publically on the forums.Originally posted by theroyale View PostBecause the agent is working in a professional capacity and is representing his agency. I also just think it is unfair on the rest of the hard working guys. I am a contractor and embarrased to be lumped in with some of the morons that post on here so don't see why I should be tarred by their inabilitly to act professionally.
If one agent has messed you about put it down to experience IMO. Have you written to his management to actually get something done about it? I didn't think so.
Welcome to the world of agents. Nothing is going to fix that.Originally posted by Ignis Fatuus View PostIf they have not put his CV forward, but told him that they have, then they have lied in order to prevent him from getting the contract. That's what they have done wrong.
All in my personal opinon of course. If you want to shout it from the rafters then do as you wish. I would just respect you more if you didn't bother.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!
