Offered contract agent wants me to fill in disclosurescotland and pay £25

I've been offered a contract but the agent has told me I need to go to this website https://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk and complete it and pay £25.

I've never been asked for this before, I wont be working in an area that requires a criminal record check though it is a bank.

Anyone else had to fill one of these in should the agent take the £25 hit ?

3 months at £500 a day is £30k. I think investing 0.08% of that to secure it is possibly not all that expensive.

I had to do one for a gig at Lloyds, Manchester for Wipro.
Didn't even take the gig in the end ..... might come in handy in the future though....you never know

Before I started there I was asked to make a DS report. Agent re imbursed the 25 quid though so, have you asked them? And is it work losing the contract for? Your call.

Yeah its them you still there ? Is the 10% cut on renewal still active, can't seem to get agent to confirm / I'm not bothered by the £25 just thought criminal record check was strange for a bank.

I got offer from Llyods a few weeks back but part of the offer included me agreeing to take a 10% rate after 6 months, I got them to up the rate to factor that in, didn't take it in the end for other reasons.

I've had to do this too. I didn't agree with it either, but I'd just suck it up and do it.

It's not worth the time and effort arguing about it.

I got one a couple of years ago - Agent (or maybe BT) paid for it.
