The enhanced one contains more info (surprise surprise !!).

I had an enhanced one done about three years ago which recorded something from 1994 ! and a bloody pair of driving offences which went through court rather than fixed penalty. Had a standard one done last May and there was nothing on it.
Yup it was the standard jobbie...hmmm my past may still catch up with me

No I jibbed them off nearly 2 years ago even though they wanted me to extend.

CRB check is quite common with banks now. Even my regular client where I'd been for nearly 3.5 years wanted a basic check when they asked me back.

Got to admit the website looked a bit mickey mouse, I thought it was some kind of data farming exercise at first, also the whole Scotland thing is confusing.

The site also asked me to send in evidence of address etc when I called them it didnt actually need it was just told it always shows that..why if they don't need it. Also why the hell do they need to know your electricity meter reference code ? Alot of the info they ask for in the standard disclosure website form they dont need I gave them the minimum.

Depends if you are going to your client as a plumber or not. The fact that you don't want to supply your client with a reference contact details would suggest that you could be unreliable. You could provide your client with references of 2 agencies advising that your previous clients have policies in place that prevents them from providing contractors with references.

IR35 implications are based on the wording of your contract and working practices. Doing a credit check and providing references are not IR35 pointers.

I had to get one during a 6 month contract a few years ago for an asset management house

But I was 3 months in when
client co contact: by the way did you go through the DS process?
me: no, never been mentioned before.
CCC: oh, you were supposed to go through that before you start.

Client co reimbursed me for it, not sure if they would have done this pre-contract though.

I got offer from Llyods a few weeks back but part of the offer included me agreeing to take a 10% rate after 6 months, I got them to up the rate to factor that in, didn't take it in the end for other reasons.
I turned that one down back then, but another area there just made me a offer, its nice to be in demand , going to take it this time though, agent won't confirm either way though the 10% cut after 6 months, but even if that happened this time its still worth it.

I've never been asked for this before, I wont be working in an area that requires a criminal record check though it is a bank.

Anyone else had to fill one of these in should the agent take the £25 hit ?
I got one a couple of years ago - Agent (or maybe BT) paid for it.

I've had to do this too. I didn't agree with it either, but I'd just suck it up and do it.

It's not worth the time and effort arguing about it.
