I was nervous because this is my first contract role, and have been told, as a contractor, you need to deliver immediately.

Unlike in a perm role, where there is more leeway given.
    You're right, you do.

I have read some of the helpful comments here, and thought I would make my first post.

I have previously worked for a short while in a Project Support role. I have now obtained a contract Project Support role, but would really like to go through some things with an experienced PSO/PM before I start.
If anyone would like to help, that would be much appreciated.

If someone could take a day or so to go through a review in person, I would be happy to pay them for their time.

      Thanks for the help everyone.
So how come you got the role in the first place, given your inexperience? Bluff/blag or much cheapness?
      Clarity is everything

I have worked as a PSO before, but I think this contract role will be of a higher standard.

I think I can do it, just need to make sure I am prepared for any assignment they can give me.

You Know do not be so sure that client co is going to have a very tight project process with clearly defined documentation.

When I took my first contract role as a PM it was actually after I had been managed out of the door based on the fact I was a rubbish PM at my previous company. (turned out it was more to do with my inability to kiss a** rather than my skills as a PM!)

When I arrived I found my project documentation and approach was more than the company had ever used before (it is a big company too).

In fact they still now use some of my ideas and documentation in projects across the company.

If you are in Project Support you can expect to have clear guidelines on documetation - if there is nothing then wahtever you produce will be better than that!

            Thanks for that.

If you don't mind, I would also like to PM you a couple questions I have regarding the approach you used.
