    People weren't being obnoxious.

Next time you post for help give more information as until nearly the end of the thread:
    1. You didn't say it was a joint bank account
    2. You didn't say it was your only bank account

Plus most people have access to a printer and scanner even if it's not their own.

I said one person. Please do pay attention.

And again, as I said in a later post, it was meant more as a 'would you?' rather than a plea for help which you seem to think it was.

But then again, I did forget that one must cover every bit of minutia for some here

TBH, it doesnt make a scrap of difference whether it was a joint or only bank account, it was about would you post bank statements to an agent etc?

But, to answer your questions, yes it was joint, yes it is the only personal bank account and no, I dont have a printer \ copier \ scanner. Am I unusual in that? Perhaps but I dont really see what that has to do with it when the question was 'would you post your personal bank statement.......'

Oh and thanks for you concern.

Don't worry mate, its a sad fact that many on this forum don't read the original post, and even those that do are just looking for a reason to insult you... i get it all the time. sensible intellectual debates don't seem possible in this place, even in the 'professional' sections of the site..

Joeman, stop crying like a baby for gods sake. This is an internet forum full of random people hidden behind avatars and made up names. The fact is even professional is a miracle. This type of banter has been going on for years and will carry on until the end of time. If you don't have the balls to hack it the exit is that way --> use it instead of crying like a baby in everythread.

Just because it is a professional forum it doesn't mean you don't need some kahunas and be able to stand up your own. If you can't go join mumsnet and whinge there.

<mod note: you actually need bigger kahunas for joining mumsnet. HTH>

In any event, this would just make the bank statement virtually the same as a utility bill?
I would not send it without seeing evidence of a specific request from the client.

Never heard of this intrusive nonsense before.

I sent them digi photos of the statements eventually albeit with some reluctance. Afterwards, they told me the job offer would have been withdrawn at 5pm Friday if they hadnt of been received.

The reason they wanted sight is to confirm my finances are not subject to 'frequent unauthorised overdrafts \ in excessive debt' as an indication I wouldnt swindle money out of them

Considering the amount of banking work on my cv, with retail banks and credit card co's, I found that a little insulting.

I think this contract is going to be a bundle of laughs.

Hmmmm - there are plenty of different ways that they could check that, without asking you for a copy of one bank statement.

When I was asked for one, it was purely for ID purposes rather than in lieu of a credit check. I wiped out all transaction details apart from the dates, which was fine for ID but wouldn't have passed your requirements.

Best of luck with this one.

They said something about not finding sufficient details via a well known credit reference agency (so wanting sight of bank transactions). That's likely because I've only one 'finance' agreement on my account although I have numerous credit cards.

TBH, I can see this going tits up and am expecting something tomorrow on my first day!

I remember an agency once insisted I sent a bank statement. I said I had gone paperless, so I could email them the pdf. They said 'no, it has to be "original"' - I said I could print it and post it - they said that would be fine
