Indeed you are right. Most of them are too busy knob-polishing to actually have a clue what they are doing though.

I like to see an agent.....p-p-p-p-p-pimp, sorry that popped out....keep in contact with their contactors and keep them updated with progress if there CV has gone to a particular client....honest feedback is also key. A daily email does not hurt does it?

My phone rings constantly when I advertise my CV, agents wanting to send my CV here and there.....at first its a case being a best mate and can we send your CV along..then when nothing happens for a while.....you are soon forgotten.

For me, if this happens, I tend not to progress any further with a role because the agent is not focused on me and my situation. So whats he/she gonna be like if I get the role eh?

Another point I'd add is that I HATE agents ringing me when they are seeing how I am doing and wanting a copy of my CV. Unless they have a role for me, then I do not send them a thing.....

how many CVs have the words copyright on it???? I've never come across one! So tell me what the DPA has to do with it? DPA only comes into effect if you request your information to be taken off the database - or if you ask to see the information we have about you. The DPA, I believe, doesn't stop us from talking to clients about yourself

If your CV is a work of fiction, yes then you can copyright it
If it is fact though, well AFAK facts cannot be copyrighted

Just putting "Copyright" does not copyright something, unless it is something that is eligble for copyright protection

Indeed, as the recent "Holy Blood and Holy Grail" trail demonstrated.

My Profile document (or CV if you prefer - and I don't) does not carry a copyright notice, however my company email carries a disclaimer notice, also covering attachments, stating (among other things) that "any unauthorised distribution is strictly prohibited unless specifically authorised".
The profile also carries my business terms & conditions, which state that the document is not for distribution unless specifically authorised. I also take the precaution of not sending it to S3, MSB and CP. And if I knew outfit you work for, I wouldn't send it there either.
