Word is the "universal standard" for transferring documents. Acrobat doesn't cut it because it's clunky, you can't edit anything easily without fishing out for lots of cash and well, it's bloody nagware these days as well.

As for the original topic - please ease back on the fake tan and cufflinks that are used to hold 747 engines on. Not only that, I expect to be given a decent complimentary pen - i.e. a nice Prodir DS7 Cap gel ink rollerball or similar.

given the cut that some of these agencys must be getting off our backs a complimentary laptop (or a lap dance from suitably equipped young lady) would be more appropriate

I'm happy with a decent free pen. The gel ink is poisonous so at least I can stab the bastard if I get pissed around.

Speaking for me personally, I don't own a copy of Word (or use Windows for that matter). Do you want to buy me a Windows PC with a copy of Word just so I can send you a Word CV? Thought not...

No. Word is the "Microsoft standard" for transferring documents. If, like me, you don't use Microsoft software anywhere in your business, then you're SOOL since I'm not going to purchase a copy of Windows and Word just so I can send you my CV in your chosen format.

If you dont have MS Word, most agencies would be happy to receive your CV in (Rich Text Format) RTF format.

RTF is directly readable by MS Word and can be created by many word processing packages on various platforms.

If you want a job how about you make an effort to get one - I'm sure your local library will have a PC with word on it - failing that I'm sure you must have mates who have word?.....(maybe its the library for you!)....
