Was I rude to Computer People?

I once sent a reply to an agent along the lines of the following:

"Thanks for the email. I have considered the role as requested and am unfortunately going to decline.

I think I could cope with the fact that it is completely unrelated to my skillset. It's the fact that it represents a 60k per year reduction in my basic salary that I would find hard to swallow."

Get a virtual ph number, and switch it off during contract.

Virtual Office Phone System - the only way to go imho.

Does that stop you getting irrelevant emails?

It's not really possible to be rude to an agent.

When two rhinos have a massive falling out and start insulting each other on the plains of Africa, one is normally refered to as 'having a hide as thick as a recruitment agent'.
What happens in General, stays in General.
You know what they say about assumptions!

Unless you see how long you can drag it out for and put the results on a blog.

I got a snotty email from an agent once accusing me of trying to find people I could refer to them.

Computer People and Computer Futures are always sending me emails about roles (usually permie) that have no relation to my main skill set. Sometimes they ring up and I make sure to inform them of what type of role I am after, but I still get mails from them filling up my junk mail folder.

Easier just to delete and move on.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

I got one today, skills unrelated, but must speak fluent Danish. WTF?

"I would just like candidates to be a little nicer" - doesn't sound like she will last too long in sales. Maybe she should look after fluffy kittens instead?

                      Yes you're naive.
