Only time I spoke to them, they had no knowledge of the role and suggested that for some of the "less lucrative work", they would just palm it off to someone else and have them at the top of the agency chain.
Shame they missed out on 2 1/2 years of margin on that one, really.

After accepting the role they have sent me mountains of forms to fill in...BEFORE....they will send me the contract.
Inevitably they want last 2 years of references but they also want to do a credit check. The only time I've been credit checked by an agency was for a role in Finance which is understandable, but this role is definitely not financial. I have ticked the "No" box on the form giving their permission to credt check me. Wonder what will happen.
Formerly Sausage Surprise but forgot password on account that had email address from old gig

Tell them they can credit check your company all they want. If they insist as for their personal details so you can credit check their office staff.
I used to work through B&C and a lot of the paperwork was rubbish. If you ignore it they don't ask a second time and just let you get on with it.

I'm sure it will be fine. Some of the questions are only applicable to their PAYE employees anyway and it wasn't a problem when I said I wasn't going to answer them.
They'll scan all this stuff so you won't have to supply it next time.
They cough up weekly and on time, and are generally pleasant to deal with.

Never worked for them but used to get phone calls insisting that, due to ISO 9000, they required two references before they could talk to me about roles

Not the best. I found a role and started. The client pulled the gig after two days. B&C wont go after the client for fear of losing future business. B&C equally wont compensate me in any way saying they have a clause in the contract that states if the client pulls the rug then they have no liability. I am looking at taking B&C to Tribunal! There legal team made an offer to settle then pulled the offer the day after having "reviewed the contract" Best bit is the contract is with an umbrella and not me but they have failed to ever send the contract to the umbrella or get the contract signed off by the client. They totally messed up big time!

I feel you pain, they did something similar to me. I received nothing but deceit from Badenoch and Clark and lack of support, throughout the contract. Even the contract itself ether had incorrect location details for my main office base and missed out vital information for mileage and traveling within the role, to aid full control to their client. Which in my case was the NHS I.T. 'Badenoch and Clark'. Con merchants.... I learnt the hard way.
