    changing agencies for next renewal

where I work there are two agencies supplying us contractors, the one I'm with are paying less and have a competition clause in the contract which states -

blah blah not to work for end client after blah months after contract

I have been offered a renewal by my client but fancy moving over to one of the other suppliers

how do I manage it and any advice?

You don't. Unless you think of a reason why a binding contract doesn't apply.

OR here's a thought. Negotiate a better rate with your exisiting agency. You're clearly worth every penny

The point is your current agency won't want to lose your income so they'll simply drop you and get a new guy in, and your client won't want the hassle, and the other agency won't want to take on someone who jumps mid-contract.

Unless you really are in a strong enough position to persuade all three otherwise. Which only you can judge.

But you were happy with the rate when you landed the role?

          Honestly, some contractors.

Yeah you can change but the agency has to agree to it because they found you so they tie you in. In reality, it's probably not going to happen.

The best thing to do is find out how much margin the agency is taking and then try to get them to cut that and give you a pay rise.
