You could try looking at something like peopleperhour.com. Seem to be enough skilled guys on there at cheap prices. Never used it myself to be honest. Might want to find someone that has a bit of seo knowledge as well rather than just a webpage designer.

If you want a proper site rather than one which just looks pretty, it might be harder... SEO is more than just techy stuff but also about knowing how to write. And your branding might also need to be designed with business/competition in mind to avoid competing with some megacorp for Google results.

Depends how empty your market area is probably. Any clues?

I have been looking at doing some work with small businesses in my town particularly around SEO and directories and it surprises me how many of them had a webpage that has been done by a mate or something similar and some of them still haven't been listed and will never appear on google so utter waste of time. Just a bit of basic keyword knowledge applied at the very least would be a great bonus to most of these people so when you ask for the work put a bit in about some basic SEO work and what they offer. I think a bit of time and thought on top of the basic website would pay dividends in the long run.

Flowery language isn't good by the way, it has to be target, relavant language etc...

Be interesting to know how you went on if you did use anyone off there by the way.

It is actually a content system so it will be running off that, based on wiki syntax and pretty bespoke to the market, done some basic SEO work offshored to India already but reputation will be king as got it into one of the biggest places in the UK.

My biggest concern is explaining to the potential buyers that wiki syntax is not difficult to learn but my opinion is from that of a coder. Also that there is a return on investment through using the system from no demonstrable information at this time to suggest there is. I just seem not to be able to write marketing literature, some people on here would say I just cannot write literature of any kind.

Not going to make me a millionaire but give me another income stream, couple of grand a month I am aiming for which I think is quite achievable

I have this concern about my plan B (it also requires a bit of skill from the user/client). Perhaps you could offer training sessions or provide support where you could do the "difficult" bits for them. There's a couple of ways of generating income?

IMO it's best to give the user/client a choice: DIY or pay me
