If you have it in writing that they charge for the evaluation process, and the stament on the website says they wont put anyone forward who has not completed the process then they need to be reported.

Although there is an option to pay a small Not-Get-Reported fee, of course. Say £500? That's for administration costs, obviously.

£500 X Number of people on CUK......

Probably not a sum they'd want to consider

I may have to phone them up with my voice recorder accidentally on as I presume they won't have anything in email.

They quote money on the site.

"Our £39.99 evaluation produces a PDF report and radar graph that show how your skills rate against industry best practice. We also provide a free Programme Recruitment telephone consultation to discuss your results, potential personal development options and any suitable opportunities that exist. All evaluation candidates are automatically listed on our pre-selection database and will receive e-mail job updates."

There are a lot of desperate people out there and desperate people do desperate things, including giving money to "agencies" on the tiny chance that it might give them a preferential chance at a role.

I cant think of too many competent contractors though who would do anything other than sneer at an agent who asked them to pay for such fluff.

Which is all the more reason to identify such sites and shut them down. Now who can we complain to?

I phoned the BIS up complaints go to these guys apparently - https://payandworkrights.direct.gov.uk/complaints/ Phone number - 0800 917 2368 (Use something like 0800 buster if calling from a mobile so you won't be charged.)

You need to phone them up but they don't take your personal details. They want the details of the agency and what they are doing wrong.
