Exclusivity period for agents to submit you for a role.

LOL, just seen a role so phoned the pimp. Managed to speak to him and he said they will likely get a lot of cv's in for it so if I havent heard anything in 7 days, assume Im not being submitted.

So I said, 7days!? You expect me to give you exclusivity on a role for 7 days? Er, yes, he said.

Norfolking chance I said. I'll give you exclusivity for 48 hours and if I dont hear from you within that time, I'll approach another agent instead.

Oh, you cant do that, he said. Why not, I said? Erm, because we get so many cv's in it takes time to go through them all. Tough tulip (or words to that effect) I said, my cv's in your in box and I've phoned to express my interest.

You've got 48 hours and the clock's ticking!

Yeah man!! You are one of many CV's all who are willing to wait but you will push the agent in to a corner and put a deadline on him to submit your CV instead of ones from everyone else. You certainly showed him..

Seriously though with sarcasm mode off, I applaud your efforts and it would be a much better place if this would stick and the agents knew it.s eriously, but I would have thought that, unless you are a shinging star for this role that kind of phone call is going to do your chances more harm than good?

Good work. You've just been filed under B. And I'm pretty sure nobody has a "b" file with "bolshie" on the front of it.....

If you landed a role but were up for several, I bet the same agent would be demanding an acceptance answer there and then

I'm sure they would. Agents have demanded exclusivity from me before and a polite "Sorry but as you know there are no guarantees in life and I have to look after myself". Instead of a

Totally agree with Sockpuppet. Love 'em or hate 'em, the majority of roles are accessed through agents so might as well keep them sweet

Hahaha! Somehow, why do I not believe that's how and all you say?

I love the way people here act oh so proper.

I think the word you're looking for, is professional. You should try it - believe it or not, agents do appreciate it.....
