I switched from coder to BA, BA rates are better and I don't understand this as the work is easier then coding imo, some of the BA's I've come a cross at current gig are cr*p but they have managed to long term contract.Comment

I am a BA (clue in my name) but have also done PMO and several other roles (but never developer / coder / techie / etc.)
Been working in project land for 15 years, the last 7 of which as a contractor. So in answer to your question "Is there many on here that have had a long term BA contracting career" - subject to your definition of many and if 1 can equal many then YES
(As a BA you need to get the specification spot on)!!!!Comment

Back to the OP, Started off as a BA and am now PMing, so yes, you don't have to be a coder to contract.Comment
