    Is this the process ?

    Hello Everyone,

When you apply for a role, some of agents reply :

"I am currently looking to fill a large number of roles for developers. In order to ensure that I do no put you forward for any roles that you have already been to I will require the places that you have already interviewed and the people that you interviewed with"

In your opinion, what is the right answer ?

They're just looking for sales leads, so if you want a laugh give them the number of a friends company and forewarn them

They are fishing for leads. Give them the name and number of the last agent you spoke to.

If you don't want to do that just say you've only recently started looking for a role and have not had any interviews yet, or that if the agent tells you who the roles are with you will let him know if you have already been put forward.

The answer is "tell me who your clients are and I'll tell you I have already been put forward"

Although you'll find these roles don't actually exist and it's a fishing trip.

Anything will do - agents know they are trying it on with this line, and will expect it to be almost laughed off by anyone who's been round the block a couple of times.

Second word is "off". First word begins with "F". See if you can guess it.

I agree with the others, it's a blatant fishing trip, they're purely after names to contact for sale, there's no role and they're just trying to exploit your contacts.

F and Off are entirely appropriate.

Putting myself into a contractors shoes, I'd probably tell them the companies who I had been interviewed by, but certainly not the hiring manager etc.

                  Can't argue with that
