    CV advice.

I'm currently trying to overhaul my CV. I have my name address etc.i have the profile section in which i have tried to outline what i do and what my goal is. After that i just have each role listed and bullet points of my duties.I'm not sure how best to list my past 7 roles/contracts as taking up quite a lot of space. I have looked at various sites and they advise to include achievements and expertise section.

    any tips??

For starters dump your address. No one sends snail mail anymore and if you are posting it on open media with your name, address AND telephone number on it you are just asking for trouble.

You also list your last 7 roles as they are required for the role you are applying for. Dump the rest. You should be writing a more or less custom CV for every role highlighting the skills you have that are asked for in the job description. Granted page 2 can be a bit watered down but the first page must demonstrate exactly what they are looking for. The job description of the role being applied for will tell you what you should have in and what you shouldn't

      Try reading this first

There have also been threads specifically started by Agents regarding length of CV and format and you could search for those as well.

To be honest the only contact and personal details you need on your CV are:
        1. Name - skip middle initial unless you have a really common name
        2. Mobile telephone number - you aren't going to be stuck at home all the time are you? You don't expect an agent to try 2 numbers for you do you?
        3. Email address - which has a few uses agents can spam you (though you may strike up a relationship with them years later) and agents can send info through asap.
        4. Location - this is optional. It really has no relevance to where you will end up contract wise.

I never used to put location on mine. I added it, and noticed a slight change in calls.

I don't put my full address though.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

I have my address on mine. Doesn't seem to stop the agents calling.

I've always had my address on my CV, ever since I started applying for work.

Its the same address that is on companies house for my LTD - which anyone can view. Never had any problems to date, so why remove it now?

Agents are not going to not call you just because you have your address on. The question is how much value does it add. The answer is none at all. So take it off. It isn't detrimental but it doesn't help either.

Thieves don't tend to be that intelligent.

So while they will spend loads of effort getting info of a job board CV the won't bother spending time going after Companies House details.

You need to remember there are more people then just those who run their own companies who have their CV on job boards.
