    Anyone heard of Broadgate IT?

They're a recruitment shop, called me on Monday about a role that seemed a little too good to be true. See here: 6 Month Contract (extendable) .NET Developer, MVC, ASP.NET 3.5/4.0 Dublin £350-450 DUBLIN, REPUBLIC OF IRELAND Contract IT Job.

Said they'd call on two occasions, but didn't.

    A CV fishing exercise?

Has anyone here worked with them before? The "lorem ipsum" on their webpage doesn't lend credence...

Never heard of them before, but their Linkedin page looks a bit shifty.

The recruiter in question has a questionable profile too.

She graduated in 2009, but has been in recruitment since 2008.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

Why is that too good to be true?

The rate? 450 a day in banking is poor

She obviously was the office dogsbody before she graduated and was promoted to senior recruiter as there is only the Managing Director in the company as well.

That thought hadn't occured to me. It does surprise me the quality of senior recruiters these days.

Just thought I'd warn anyone thinking of dealing with Broadgate IT. They are a phoenix company of Jones Beckett who went into voluntary liquidation earlier this year, owing many contractors a lot of money. See this thread:

              http://forums.contractoruk.com/busin...ml#post1074462

So if anyone is in contract with them (or looking to be), expect to be messed around not being paid on time until eventually they'll probably do the same as they've done in the past (and on more than one occasion by the looks of it) and do a runner having lots of unpaid invoices on their books. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

My personal recommendation is to avoid this bunch like the plague.

Wow - Great stuff - Thank you for that

Do we not keep a sticky of all dodgy recruiters?

Would be a good idea as there are so many these days, but we would have to be professional about it and keep the naming and shaming to those that have gone bust etc...
