up for contract with 2 agents?

So there's this contract that has just been re-advertised. A week ago, i sent my cv & spoke to agent 1 to be put forward for it. I've heard nothing since. It's been re-advertised with another agent. Is there any harm in sending cv to agent 2, in case agent 1 didn't send it / has fallen out of favour / has put cheaper contractors up instead of me ...

I guess I'd have to say no when agent 2 says have I already applied for the contract / client?

Sure the client may just not be interested in me, but I don't want to miss out in case of another reason.

    Cheers.

Go for it. There may be complications, but as you haven't heard back from 1 after a week, you can assume that one's dead and you've got nothing to lose.

AS a general rtule, avoid having two different people representing you, it annoys the hell out of us hiring managers. However, in this case, worth a pop and most likely you didn't get submitted at all the first time round; just be ready to back away from the second agency if it goes a bit pear-shaped.

And prepare for a bit of stick. Agent 2 will be very unhappy indeed and have a go in the worst case. He may also go and moan to the client etc. Will be a bit of a bun fight but shouldn't really affect your chances.

Don't go doing it as a rule though. Nothing good can come of it and it doesn't increase your chances as you might think.
