      I wouldn't go within a million miles of a public sector role. Low rates + you will be axed as soon as the LibCon cuts come into effect.

      I think this is the most obvious choice of the century.

        As others have said, contractors in the NHS may face quite a haircut shortly. While NHS spending as a whole will be above inflation, there will definately be some jugging of finances within the NHS - and the easiest target are those that are not union ringfenced direct employees (i.e. contractors)

        If you don't have banking experience - and are now being offered it - I'd bite their hand off.

          IMHO I would go RBS, may not have the best of reputations at the moment, but should set you up for some more lucrative banking gigs down the line.

                  I know a few people who went to them, one guy only lasted a day. Others hate every min. but they are working.
