Anyone had dealing with this company

Had a call this morning about a gig in Reading, fast talking chap from India I think, but the weirdest convesation about a contract.

Can you do this, this and this=== yes
You ok with a 6-12 month contract ===yes
Rate is 200 per day=== no to low, got him to go way above this in the end!

Didnt really have a job spec just a list of tech...

I recieve the email with confirmation of putting me forward for the contract and it appears to be a blank contract template with mention of starting 1 week from the start of the agreement and my ltd company details/ vat etc and some references... Haven't had an interview yet

I emailed him back to find out like the following:

Whats the client's name, actual location and what they do. Also what they actually want me to do...I very confused that he didn't mention this in phone call or email.

The company is called Silverlink Technologies, seems they are based in UK/Indian/Germany etc and seem to be some kind of Provider but its not clear. Maybe they trying to recruit for an outsource on a clients site?

I got offered that as well - same agency....

However I pushed & got offered 240/day. Did not like the contract I was asked to sign immediately (Provide agency with sick notes etc, ties on shares, letting client know I was company were the obvious ones on a quick read ) & multiple references up front so told them to go away. Dont think the contract would with current wording pass IR35 - and as I had to agree there & then said no.
I was told it was 3rd line. asked for more & got told the max was 240.
Couldn't understand the agent in half the conversation.

          Silverlink technologies

Has anyone worked with this company as a agency? How is their payroll administration? Is their payroll system is good and they place me with a good client at a decent rate I would be happy.

Mike if you are using your real name I suggest you change it as these threads are easily found via google. While some posters have had agencies working out who they are under their usernames you are making it really easy for them.

Also if the company refuses to give you details of the end-client then refuse to sign anything until they do.

As Mike hasn't been back in nearly a year, I doubt you'll get a reply

They contacted me a few months back for a job in Brugges in Belgium, I don't have any idea why though, I had no relevant experience and it sounded like the guy on the phone had no idea what he was talking about either. Something to do with Drupal & PHP, while I've dabbled in it in my own time, it's not on my CV or work history. The guy told me it was 12 months +, £70,000 per year, which I asked in daily rate because it seemed odd to offer a contract but state a yearly wage.

EDIT: Lol, just read above reply.

I've had a few completely random calls from that agency and another one based in India whose name I can't remember just now. Every time the rates quoted have been way too low, to the point where I'd be surprised if they'd get anyone to take the job. At that point they start to bump the rate offer up in £20 increments until its still way too low but proceed to try and persuade me otherwise. All very strange.

one of the many from India

this is one of the many recruitment agencies who have forayed into this area. They mainly recruit for many Indian consultancy companies for projects across Europe..They start with such a low rate and then like one said, increase it by 20 quids but would not offer you a market rate. Off course I have my own personal experience with them..

I am worried they are bringing down the market rates as they are managing to find cheaper resources some how..and I think ruling also says if they cannot find a resource in EU then can very well bring someone from there offshore offices, which will be even cheaper..

Nothing we can do, I guess.....
