Give them a bulltulip CV to forward to the client, then fail to turn up for interview. Clients (plural) get pissed off with agency and eventually, no client can be bothered with said agency. :nazi:

      About SilverLink

Well..SilverLink actually recruits for companies like TechMah & Wipro in UK. In short they take a bite from what ever companies like TechMah & Wipro offers... which is like stealing from beggar’s plate..??

I would not do that or they will get another reason and chance to bring one more from offshore...

Off course I have my own personal experience with them..

I am worried they are bringing down the market rates as they are managing to find cheaper resources some how..and I think ruling also says if they cannot find a resource in EU then can very well bring someone from there offshore offices, which will be even cheaper..

I think the above highlight is the real reason for their call. I suspect they are fronts for the consultancies to back up their claims that there is no one resident who 'can' fulfil the need.

          Black Apple is another.

I suspect these are the kind of people that Vince Cable is listening to when he supports their ICT scams.

            I have come across them

They touted my 18 months back about a contract abroad and then offered me a contract without any contract being seen or without anyone from Silverlink or the end client even seeing me.

It was all very weird and all done by manic garbled phone calls.

I had two calls from them yesterday

They called me yesterday, once an asian lady, offering a contract with C++ in Newcastle, and she told me that 400 a day was ok. Then I told her to send a detailed job spec so that I could read at least what the exact requirements are. She said she can't, I have to agree into it over the phone because it is urgent. I said then I am not interested, and hung up.
An hour later a guy from india called me, offering the same contract, C++ in Newcastle. When I asked for the rate he told me its between 200-250 (they are looking for c++ engineers with 8 years of experience!). I simply hung up.
Then the guy sends me an email that the rate is 400 a day.

Seriously, wtf? If they find anyone to do the job for 200, and the client is paying lets say 500, and both the contractor and the client finds this out, how satisfied the client would be then? Paying 500 for an experienced professional actually working for 200?

I let this post through to revive an old thread because last week I had a very strange phone call for a London contract almost exactly as Geoffrey described (not Silverlink).

I wasn't well when he called and agreed to him putting my CV forward. The following day I came to my senses and withdrew my application but since he didn't get back to me I guess he got what he wanted (my CV as I didn't connect with him on linked in).

I'm trying to understand why they are going to all this trouble ?

The "trying to prove there are no UK people" doesn't really wash in my understanding of the law on this.

My suspicion is that they want to bombard a client with CVs and haven't got any that even pretend to match.
