I am just embarking into the world of contract Project Management. I currently use the serach engine on CUK, Job Serve and Job site, could one of more experienced chaps point me to some reputable contract agencies worth registering with please ?

You're already on the boards, you could put your CV on Monster but most of the jobs are filled before they get onto those.

Never registered with an agency myself. I tend to just put my cv up on the usual places like the sites you mention above (probably Monster as well) and wait for agents to call me. Obviously I chase up contracts posted on the net too and follow these up with calls into whichever agency is advertising the role. Good luck with the search.

I would of thought in these lean times (thread already read cojack) it would be advantageous to be speaking with agencies ? Is my thought process wrong peeps ?

It wouldn't hurt to speak with agencies, but there aren't specialists in Projecct Management. Agents get given requirements by their clients and recruit on them.

That isn't exactly true.

My current agent is a niche Project, Programme and PMO specialist agency.

(I'm not a PM but thats another story )

Register with Technojobs and CW as well.

Look for specialist recruitment agencies IMO - depending on sector/IT skill set as they network and work candidates much better e.g. banking - Aston Carter .....rather than generic agents who dont know one skill from another.

I am guessing you haven't bothered looking at the icons at the top of this very page. I would point out which one will bear you some fruit but I cba. Oh there is the link in the right hand window that might help a little as well but again, will leave you to find it... HTH
